Our History

Our Founder and President, Lewis Jarrett, got his start in ministry while affiliated with the Cosmopolitan Church of Prayer in Chicago, Illinois, where Dr. Charles G. Hayes is the founder.

Minister Lewis Jarrett established Arkansas' Cosmo Outreach Ministry in 1993, out of a strong desire for the families of those in the penal systems of Arkansas to be more connected. Minister Lewis Jarrett wanted to help different church organizations build functioning prison ministeries, as well as work with the Inmates of the penal systems improve their life skills and to seek to increase their educational stance. Minister Jarrett has invested a lot of time, effort, and money in assisting those in need. Whatever the problem, Brother Lewis Jarrett will try to help. From the homeless to the hopeless, from the hopelss to the helpless, Cosmo Outreach extends a helping hand.

Having worked with Teen Challenge Ministry, Minister Jarrett realized that our youth stand in need of tremendous help. Minister Jarrett has become so well known in Pulaski County Court System that many Judges look favorably on his appearance with youth in their courtrooms.

In addition, Minister Lewis Jarrett is a Certified Religious Assistant (CRA) with the Arkansas Department of Correction (ADC). He helps to conduct religious services at the Pine Bluff Unit as well as the Diagnostic Unit, and he helps with special meetings at the Tucker and Malvern, Cummins Units.

Minister Lewis is an accomplished organist and pianist and has worked with the geniuses Duke Ellington, Mahalia Jackson, Shirley Ceaser, James Cleveland, Rev. Al Green and Albertina Walker

It is Cosmo Outreach's intention to reach out and help the troubled of Arkansas because God did indeed give us a command to love one another as we love ourselves. And this we will do.
